On Copyright

The copyrighted works used in my fanworks are used legally as allowed under "fair use" law

"The use of the copyrighted material is justified as fair use under 17 USC 107 because it is (a) transformative and (b) does not adversely affect the market or potential market of the original work or derivative works. The central purpose of this investigation [into purpose and character of use] is to see ... whether the new work merely "supersede[s] the objects" of the original creation, or instead adds something new, with a further purpose or different character, altering the first with new expression, meaning, or message; it asks, in other words, whether and to what extent the new work is "transformative." Campbell v. Acuff-Rose Music, Inc., 510 U.S. 569, 579, 114 S.Ct. 1164, 127 L.Ed.2d 500 (1994), Zomba Enterprises, Inc.; Zomba Songs, Inc., Plaintiffs-Appellees, v. Panorama Records, Inc., Defendant-Appellant., 491 F.3d 574 (6th Cir. 2007)."

Fanfic

I'm not a prolific fic writer at all, but what there is is available at the AO3, under the pseuds blissfire and miruku_koohii. I tend to be one of those types who writes one fic in a fandom and then never writes for it again. Dunno why that is.

I have about a half-dozen WIPs sitting on my hard drive, but with the exception of Ten Days in July, which ended at a decent place and could pass for a slice-of-life thing, I don't post them. This is because they often don't get attention for literally years at a time. They just sit there on my computer silently damning me every time I open one up, read through it, and then promptly close it again to go read someone else's fic. *headdesk* Pack your bags, we're going on a guilt trip!

Speak the Words They Can
Fandom: Entourage

Vince would never tell E, because he'd never understand, but secretly, Vince loved it when guys like Walsh and Harvey gave E such a hard time. Vince/Eric preslash, PG.

Moonglade
Fandom: Stargate Atlantis

Rodney and John, two druids on opposite sides of a decades-old war, meet by chance in the demilitarized city of Nighthaven. World of Warcraft fusion AU. John/Rodney preslash, PG, animal transformation.

Ten Days in July
Fandom: Stargate Atlantis

Being with Rodney was like that; you had to adapt or die. The man travelled around with his horses and his entourage, putting the fear of Darwin into people across the continent. John had adapted very well. Rodeo!AU. Technically a WIP, but can be read as is. John/Rodney preslash, PG.

A Nickel's Worth of Candy
Fandom: Lost

Seven years and some-odd months ago... Small thing written as a Yuletide Treat for Yuletide 2009. Jack/Sawyer, PG.

Celebration
Fandom: Due South

"Calm down, Ray. It isn't dead, it's gold-plated." Kiiind of a case fic, but mostly an excuse for 8000 words of attempted humour. Fraser/RayK, PG.

High Voltage
Fandom: Linkin Park RPS

I think maybe I love him most of all when we're on stage doing High Voltage. Written in honour of the infamous live video of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performance. Mrow. Chester/Mike preslash, M for language.

Delivery

A new computer arrives in the office. Is PC being replaced? Gen, PG.
